What’s new with Foreigner

• A new voice. Kelly Hansen fronted Foreigner for 20 years before announcing his retirement on NBC’s The Voice in 2025. Guitarist Luis Maldonado, a former member of Train who joined in 2021, took over lead vocals.
• The 50th anniversary. The band formed in 1976, and its self-titled debut album turns 50 on March 8, 2027. The celebration runs through 2027.
• A New York homecoming. Four spring 2027 shows bring the band back to the area where it started (dates below).
• Head Games, expanded. An expanded reissue of the 1979 album is due this fall.
