Two and a half years, six legs, about 90 stadium shows and one nor’easter: AC/DC’s Power Up Tour is in the books. It started in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, in May 2024 and ended on October 2, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, with Dave Grohl on stage for “Highway to Hell.” Here’s the whole tour in one place: every leg, the finale setlist, the lineup and what might come next.

AC/DC is all over the Power Rock n’ Roll Radio Show (9 am–6 pm ET) and the Classic Rock n’ Roll Show (4–7 am and 6 pm–2 am ET).

What’s new: the tour is over

  • A finale worth the wait. MetLife’s September 25 show was called off for severe wind and moved to Friday, October 2. With The Pretty Reckless already booked elsewhere, Foo Fighters opened, and Grohl joined AC/DC for “Highway to Hell.”
  • Last show ever? Unknown. The summer run was billed as a chance to “power up one last time,” but the band hasn’t announced a retirement, and there are no new dates.
  • Brian Johnson turned 79 three days after the finale. Angus Young, 71, is the only founding member still in the band.

Setlist surprises along the way: “Givin’ the Dog a Bone,” “Dog Eat Dog” and “Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be” rotated in at various shows, and “Jailbreak” returned in Melbourne for the first time since 1991, then stayed in the set.

Who was on stage

  • Brian Johnson: lead vocals
  • Angus Young: lead guitar
  • Stevie Young: rhythm guitar, in the role of his late uncle Malcolm
  • Chris Chaney: bass, replacing Cliff Williams
  • Matt Laug: drums

Openers included The Pretty Reckless on most legs, Amyl and the Sniffers in Australia, and Foo Fighters for St. Louis and the finale.

Station picks: five tour highlights to play loud

  1. Back in Black (1980). Second on the setlist, and the moment every stadium lost its voice.
  2. Thunderstruck (1990). That intro plus 60,000 people chanting along.
  3. Highway to Hell (1979). The Grohl moment at MetLife.
  4. Demon Fire (2020). The Power Up track that earned its place among the classics.
  5. Let There Be Rock (1977). Angus’s nightly marathon solo.

What comes next?

AC/DC almost always tours behind a new album, and their last three arrived six years apart: Black Ice (2008), Rock or Bust (2014) and Power Up (2020). Fans are guessing at a greatest hits release, a new album recorded quietly, or more shows without one. Nothing is confirmed, so for now we’re filing it under “to be continued.” For the band’s story, songs and deep cuts, see our AC/DC artist page.

Still on tour: legends you can see this year

AC/DC may be off the road, but plenty of classic rock heavyweights aren’t. Journey’s farewell tour runs through November 28, the Eagles are at Sphere in Las Vegas into January 2027, and Foreigner, Styx and Alice Cooper are all touring. See every date in our Classic Rock Concerts & Tours 2026–2027 guide.
