Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio Live We Play Everything That Rocks Your World!
AC/DC saved the biggest bang for last. After a nor’easter blew out their original September 25 date, the band closed the Power Up Tour on Friday, October 2, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and Dave Grohl walked out to sing “Highway to Hell” with them. If you were in the parking lot by noon, you earned it.

MetLife called off the September 25 show the same day because of severe wind warnings across New York and New Jersey, and moved it to October 2. Tickets carried over. The rain check created a second problem: The Pretty Reckless, the tour’s regular openers, were already booked for Aftershock in Sacramento on October 1. So Foo Fighters stepped in, just as they had for the St. Louis stop on September 8. Not a bad backup plan.
Grohl told the crowd that seeing AC/DC’s Let There Be Rock concert film at 11 is what sent him down the rock ‘n’ roll road. Decades later he got to sing “Highway to Hell” with the band that started it all. Angus Young then stretched “Let There Be Rock” into one of his trademark marathon solos, and Brian Johnson, days away from his 79th birthday, closed the night by thanking the fans and telling them he hoped to see them again.
Nobody knows, and the band isn’t saying. The summer dates were promoted as a chance to “power up one last time,” which reads like the end of this tour rather than a retirement notice. Angus is 71, the only founding member still in the band, and he joked to USA Today in July that he hoped his last show wouldn’t be at his own funeral.
History is a clue. AC/DC almost always tours behind a new album, and their last three came six years apart: Black Ice (2008), Rock or Bust (2014) and Power Up (2020). Fans are already guessing at a greatest hits package, a quietly recorded new album or a run of shows with no album at all. For now there are no announced dates and no farewell, so we’re filing this one under “to be continued.”
